Gold large claw scorpion
(Scorpio Maurus)
The Large Claw Scorpion originates from North Africa and the Middle East. This species is also known as the Israeli Gold Scorpion.
Large Claw Scorpions are a medium sized scorpion and can reach sizes of up to 3 inches. They have a defensive attitude but are not likely to sting. They are normally found living in burrows and are known for being excellent diggers.
Their natural habitat is either in deserts and dry forests. Their set up will need a sand substrate mixed with eco earth. The top of the substrate needs be dry and underneath needs to be damp, this allows for the scorpion to dig burrows. Bark or rocks can be used for extra hides.
Large claw Scorpions enjoy a diet of appropriately sized crickets or locusts.
